I
am an Alabama flint knapper with 6 years experience. I am about to receive my
bachelors degree in Environmental Applied Science concentrating in Geology,
Geography, and Anthropology. I also like to write fiction stories about out
Native American ancestors. I love to artifact hunt in clear cuts, creek beds,
cotton fields, and river banks. My deer hunting always suffers from looking at
the ground too much, but it’s a trade off. I love to reproduce arrow heads,
knife blades, axes and celts. But I enjoy making stone knives most of all. I am
a self taught knapper and had a bit of help with a knife construction lesson
watching Dale Cannon at a knap-in a few years ago. I enjoy teaching others to
flint knap. And I also like to share my appreciation and love for our ancestors’
handiwork with others.
